Sweet Words Page 3
“Daddy!” He kept right on reading, having gotten through only half the pile of stories that he'd been waiting on. So far he'd managed to read Sweet Temptations, Sweet Surrender, Slow Bucking, Deep in the Smart of Texas, Windows, Irresistible, and, well, the list could go on. Currently he was doing his damnedest to finish off another story before he could get to some more, but he had three very insistent merchants of evil trying to throw him off!
“Daddy!”
Knowing they wouldn’t be going anywhere until they had his full attention, he put a marker in the book and set it down, and then gave a mock scowl to his daughter and two sons. “What do you little stinkers want?”
Hendrix was the first to grin up at him. “Mommy says its bedtime and it’s your turn to get us ready.”
“Yup!” D.J. added.
He looked over at his baby girl. “You got something you wanna add?”
Hannah grinned around the thumb in her mouth and said, “If you don't do what Mommy says, you're gonna be in trouble.”

“Why did you send these to me?” Harlow didn't look up from her book until she heard giggles. Smiling slightly, she watched her husband do a good job of trying to get their kids off his legs.
“Because it's your turn,” she answered, going back to reading.
“Wait...is that my book?”
“It most certainly is.”
“Why do you have my book?”
“Because I can.”
“That's not a valid reason.”
“It is in my world, now go away. You're ruining my enjoyment,” Harlow retorted.
“But...”
Looking up again, she raised a brow. “Remember page fifty-five of this story?” she asked.
He frowned and then nodded. “Yes.”
“Well, if you want any of that to take place after you put the kids to sleep, I’d advise that you shift into gear and quickly.”
Realization slowly dawned on Dex's face, and he turned with ease and left the room, saying, “Thank heaven for creative authors.”
Giggling, Harlow went back to reading. She never would've thought that she'd get what she'd been reading about for years. Someone who adored her with every fiber of his being and could make her heart stop with just a look. Dexter Franklin was all hers, and it had all started with just a few sweet words.
